The Planning Division’s responsibilities include planning for and managing growth and land-use issues within the county, and administration and enforcement of the Granville County Land Development Ordinance, the Wireless Telecommunication Facilities Ordinance, and Airport Height Ordinance.
The division reviews and approves zoning and watershed permits; reviews major and minor subdivision plats; processes variance, rezoning, conditional use and special use applications; and participates in planning functions with the County Board of Commissioners, County Planning Board, County Board of Adjustment, County Comprehensive Transportation Planning Committee, County Greenway Committee, the National Guard Joint Land Use Study (JLUS), Upper Neuse River Basin Association (UNRBA), Kerr-Tar Regional Planning Organization (RPO), and Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO).
