Comparable Sales Information

Granville County Tax Administration utilizes comparable sales data to determine if the assessed tax value of properties align with fair market real estate value. The data found in the Comparable Property Sales Tool gives property owners access to the same data used by the Tax Administration Office during each revaluation cycle to compare properties that are similar in square footage, lot size, date sold, land value, neighborhood, and year built among other factors.

This map-based tool allows users to select the sales they deem most comparable to their own property and create a downloadable PDF report showing how the properties are alike or different. This report can help a taxpayer determine if it would be beneficial to appeal their assessed value informally to the Tax Administration Office or formally to the Board of Equalization and Review. Information regarding appeals was included in the assessment notice mailed to each property owner in February 2024.

Please note that information regarding commercial property is not available through this tool.
