State-Level Election Results (May 14, 2024)

North Carolina State Board of Elections has announced that there will be a second primary held on Tuesday, May 14 for certain races. Early voting will begin on Thursday, April 25 and end on Saturday, May 11. See below for important dates and other relevant information:

  • Saturday, March 30 – Board of Elections begins mailing absentee ballots to eligible voters who submitted an absentee ballot request form.
  • Thursday, April 25 – Early voting begins (Dates, times, and locations)
  • Tuesday, May 7 at 5:00 p.m. – Deadline to request an absentee ballot
  • Saturday, May 11 – Early voting ends
  • Tuesday, May 14 – Election Day. Polling places are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Precinct locations)
  • Tuesday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. – Final deadline to return absentee ballots.

2024 Candidate Filing Lists

Granville County and all of North Carolina held a primary election on March 5, 2024. See below for important dates and other relevant information:

  • Monday, December 4 at 12:00 p.m. – Candidate filing opens
  • Friday, December 15 at 12:00 p.m. – Candidate filing closes
  • Friday, January 12 – Board of Elections begins mailing absentee ballots to eligible voters
  • Friday, February 9 – Voter registration deadline
  • Thursday, February 15 – One-Stop Early Voting begins. Times and locations.
  • Tuesday, February 27 – Final day to request an absentee ballot
  • Saturday, March 2 at 3:00 p.m. – One-Stop Early Voting ends.
  • Tuesday, March 5 – Election Day. Polling places are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Precinct locations.
  • Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. – Final deadline to return absentee ballots.
  • Friday, March 15 – County Canvass. Election results certified.

Voter ID Requirement
North Carolina voters are now asked to show photo ID when they check in to vote. Voters who vote by mail will be asked to include a photocopy of an acceptable photo ID when returning their ballot by mail.
