The Wilton Convenience Site located at 3195 NC Highway 56, Creedmoor will temporarily close beginning Monday, October 10 to allow contractors to complete traffic improvements. The site is scheduled to reopen on Monday, October 17.
During this time, contractors will install a wider entrance ramp into the site, a new gate to account for the wider entrance, extend the concrete pad, install riprap, add drainage improvements, and paint new traffic arrows and pavement markings. The full closure is needed to allow the concrete to cure effectively and allow proper safety measures for the heavy equipment onsite working in a tight space.
Customers who need convenience site services to dispose of household waste during this closure are asked to visit one of Granville County’s six other convenience sites with the Butner site, located at 2796 Old NC 75, Butner, being the closest in travel time from Wilton.

- Oak Hill (8266 Charlie Stovall Road, Oxford) Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Oxford Landfill (6584 Landfill Road, Oxford) Monday – Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
